Below, a mineral pool held at 30 °C (86 °F) in January as in July. It does not sting your eyes. Breakfast is included, cooked when you ask for it rather than when the kitchen opens, and the orange juice is squeezed that morning. A concierge is here at every hour.
A super king bed that separates into two, and a bathroom of its own with a walk-in shower built for two. Sockets with USB-A and USB-C on both bedside tables. The room looks south, over the sea. The bed is dressed in Torres Novas bed linen on a hotel-grade mattress, with three firmnesses of pillow to choose from. Outside, a private terrace with deck chairs; inside, a Smart TV, fast Wi-Fi, mirrors that do not fog, and a bathroom stocked with everything you would otherwise have packed. Heading 160° South.

Wow, we absolutely loved our three days at Nelson’s place. It has the most amazing view, it is exquisite, everything is well cared for and Nava is the most welcoming host. This is a little gem, we enjoyed everything from the room, the pool, the breakfast in the beautiful garden and the always ‘extra’ service from Nava 🙏🏼 thank you for the experience. We would love to come back.

We stayed at Nelson Place in Funchal to start our honeymoon, and it was the perfect beginning to our trip.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. Nava greeted us with a glass of bubbles, which was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for a fantastic stay. She is a real credit to the experience and made us feel at home from day one.
Nelson was also incredibly welcoming and took the time to share local insights and recommendations about the island, which were invaluable during our stay.
The accommodation itself is outstanding—beautifully presented, spotless, and with all the comfort and quality you would expect from a 5-star hotel. We genuinely could not fault a thing.
The location is excellent, within walking distance of the city centre and restaurants. Yes, there is a hill on the way back, but that’s Madeira for you!

We had the pleasure of staying 4 nights in this beautiful villa. It is super stylish, immaculate and very comfortable. Our room had a spacious balcony with views to the sea. The breakfasts were delicious! We loved the location – a quiet and characterful part of town. Just a short walk to the promenade, cable car and old town with lively cafes, bars and restaurants. A special shout out to Nelson who was a fabulous host and the warm and friendly concierge, Navi, for the amazing personalised service. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
