Who we are

What we collect, and why
- Bookings. Name, email, phone, dates, number of guests and billing details (including a tax number if you ask for an invoice). We need them to confirm and manage your stay, issue invoices and meet Portuguese legal obligations, including guest registration with the authorities. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Payments. Card and PayPal payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages. What you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp, so we can answer you. Legal basis: your request.
- Email list. If you tick the box on our forms, your email address, so we can tell you about dates and news. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to us.
- Cookies and statistics. With your permission only, we use Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. You choose in the cookie banner; see our Cookie Policy.
Who else handles your data
Only the service providers we need to run the website and your stay: our hosting provider (Hostinger), payment providers (Stripe, PayPal), our invoicing software (TOConline), Google and Meta (only if you accept cookies), SociableKit (which shows our Google reviews on the Reviews page; your browser loads the widget from their servers, so they receive your IP address), and WhatsApp if you choose to message us there. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union under safeguards approved by the European Commission. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
Booking and invoicing records for as long as Portuguese tax law requires. Messages for as long as needed to answer you. Your email on our list until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or take a copy of your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent at any time. Write to info.cais68@gmail.com. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).
